  1. Hi Folks, Just about to create user accounts for september new intake and wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of software/tool to make this task easier. I used account management spreadsheet from wisesoft last year but wondered if there was any better alternatives. P.S. I probably being slow but has the dowloads section been removed? been a while since last login.

  5. Our current licence for sophos enterprise is due for renewal soon. Can anyone reccommend a reseller that is 'competitively' priced. Have used Pugh previously and have been delighted with their service but would be interested to see if anyone is offering better pricing. Cheers guys.
  6. Hello folks some advice please? I have been asked to investigate the installation of an electronic bulletin board. I.E. large screen in reception area of school that can display messages/daily bulletin etc.. Can anybody with this type of system already installed please recommend a way to proceed. which company would you recommend contacting? How much is it likely to cost? 7. Our NTFS is good - better to be safe than sorry though. your idea of supplying the /root switch to explorer is spot on thanks very much. Merry Christmas.
  8. can any body help or point in right direction? on our workstations shorcuts to locally installed apps are in a folder on the C: drive called local programs. this folder is accessed via shortcut in pupils subject programs folder on the network. problem is if pupils click the folder up button from this location (c:\local programs) the local C: drive is displayedand accesible. This is the only way (to my knowledge) that C: drive access is possible as we have Group policy in effect that hides C: drive that seems to be successful in all other ways. Is there way of creating a shorcut to c:\local programs that fools it into thinking the parent folder is elsewhere other than C:. look forward to your comments/help
  9. If you go to performance within tool/options of media player you can drop the video acceleration down a notch and it will genreally show video on computer and through projector at same time.
  10. We haved set up a separate Vlan to County broadband connection and installed a WAP in sixth form area. Students have to provide Mac address of wireless connection (mac filtering enabled) on their laptop in return they get wep key and guide on changing proxy settings to get internet via sixth form WAP. As this is on separate VLan no 'network' acess is possible. Taken very little effort to set up and at moent keeping all parties happy.
