Hi BladeDanny, Have just tried that in index.php and template.css but no luck this end. Is that where you added?
-
I have just tried as you suggested, but it just removed the grey line under the header section and ending up shifting to the right again (this time with the resolution not as high as before) Also throws it slightly off when viewed at lower res in IE
-
Hi, it fixes the main body moving, but throws the look of the page out when being viewed as it pads the body quite far down (and for some reason that grey bar is still flying off to the right?) Picture here I tried smaller numbers, but that brings back the original problem?
-
Any idea what part of it I might need to edit? You are right, the header and footer stay central. There is a section for main body in template.css but can't see anything that would do much. I had a look at a few other sites from this template on line and the problem seems to be occuring on them too.

Hi, I am having issues with the resolution of my site. For me it all works fine and I have browser tested with no issues. But I have heard back from users that the site isn't displaying well on higher resolutions. I have tested since and it is fine on IE, but distorts in high res for Chrome, Safari and Firefox The site is here I have included screenshots below; Chrome Firefox Safari Am I correct in diagnosing resolution as the problem? I am not sure how to begin thinking about fixing it, any help would be great

Hi, I have to add an Olympic Countdown to the school site; I found this, which I think looks quite good Count up Time Since 2012 on *Tuesday, 3 January 2012 at 15:47 But when I enter it into a module via the HTML editor, all I get is a link to the original website Any ideas? Thank you!

Can anyone recommend a good plugin to show site stats. My head wants to know how many times each page is being visited, have had a look around, but read a few reviews saying that they can really slow the site, does anyone use a good plug-in for it currently? Thanks

Hi, I have made a seperate part of my site for the sixth form, but the dropdowns for the menus only work when i am on that page. Rydens Sixth Form College Home so if you click on 'why rydens' then the 'why rydens' dropdown appears, on any other page it doesnt work. The menus appear in modules on the pages, and have created the menus in the same way i did for the menus i added to the main part of the site. Does anyone have any ideas? thanks, kal-mc

Hi, have created a seperate section for sixth form and have created another news section, although it isnt displaying properly, it seems to be trying to form a second column, instead of another page? any ideas would be great? Sixth Form News

Thanks, that worked great, Not sure what is wrong with the drop-downs, am trying to fix them at the moment. I'm meant to be replacing the old school site at 3.00!! I have created seperate menus for them, and added the articles as menu items, not sure what i missed out?

as mossj said, just go under extentions and go to template manager, from there click on the template you want (i used blue), then assign it to whichever pages you to have a different template. Hope that makes sense?

hi, i've created seperate parts to my site for the school and sixth form, and want to create a news page for the sixth form. I have created a new section and category for it and have a working 'latest news' module which includes only the sixth form news (like i wanted). But when i click on the links, the articles just display inside the sixth form page, replacing the article that should be there. I'm not sure what to create to have the news articles load on thier own page, i would also like a news menu like the main one that can show all the news articles together too Rydens School
-
awesome, thanks!! used the blue template instead of duplicating to give sixth form bit its own look. Thanks again!!
-
I am guessing the answer is no, but I wanted to put a different logo in the title bar for when users go onto the Sixth Form page Rydens School is it possible? or would I have to start a new site? thanks!

Hi, just had sports day and have a bunch of photos to put on the site. I wanted to use the greybox gallery as I think it looks great, but do I need to create thumbnails for every image, then type all the locations into the HTML code? thats how i made my previous few greybox galleries, but they only had 3/4 images in, this time im dealing with about 25 and wondered if there was an easier way that I was missing? thanks kal-mc

thats the one i was using earlier How to add a Google Map to your Joomla website i followed everything fine, but i got stuck on the plugin code ----------------------------------------- Plugin Code The map at the top of the page was created by adding in the following code, using the coordinates for Times Square. I have removed the {...} which need to surround the entire section otherwise it would post a map. The paragraphs I have added for formatting reasons also need to be removed. The code can be posted anywhere in the body of your html and once inserted will show up as a map on your page. The whole process is very simple. mosmap width='500'|height='400'|lat='40.75671'|lon='-73.98646'|zoom='3'| zoomType='Large'|zoomNew='3'|mapType='map'| showMaptype='1'| overview='1'|text='Good web practices'|lang='' The code is fairly self explanatory in terms of customisation, but a full breakdown of the different parameters can be found here. The best idea is to play with each of the values and reload the map to see how they effect it. There is alot of detailed information on how to add more features to your map, such as directions and route plans on the developer's site which can be found here. ----------------------------------------- I put the code into a html module but couldn't follow how to edit it after I put my longditude and latitude in. I entered it into the html editor part, but it wasnt recognised as code and just displayed the text

hi, have been trying unsuccessfully all morning to get a google map onto my contact us page (Rydens School) i have tried plug-ins and html modules, but it just shifts the page around and doesnt put a map in. I found an article with instructions on how to replace the contacts image with a google map, but it was from 2006 for 1.0. can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks!
-
hi all, hope you got my response daboroe i did it as a quick response and am not sure if it sent? have now moved the search bar and adjusted the hover colour, thanks again for your input!! any other suggestions are welcomed!
-
thanks, you pointed me in the right direction, it was in the breadcrumbs module, there is an option in parameters to 'show home' i just had to de-select it. I agree about the search bar, have just been tring to move it, but no luck, tried changing the positions in module manager for search, but it didnt work, do you know how to change it? thanks

hi, am trying to tidy up my home page, but have the title appearing on my welcome message. 'show title' on the welcome message article is turned off, but the word 'home' is still appearing above it. I'm sure this wasn't there originally and have spent a long time trying to get rid of it? Is this something simple I have over looked? also any feedback on the site would be great, still a fair bit to go I know http://www.rydensschool.co.uk/ thanks
