For student film / media projects, dual-system sound is common: camera (or phone) recording picture while a Zoom, Tascam, or Rode handles the audio. Lining those up before the NLE edit eats class time.
WaveXML (free beta, Mac/Windows) is built for that step: import camera rushes + the separate audio, Synchronize, then export XML/OTIO into DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro. No plugin, no upload — media stays on the machine.
Pitch: Sync cameras and audio, then let your AI edit. WaveXML also exposes a local MCP so Claude/Codex/Cursor can help with a first rough cut from stills only. WaveXML itself has no AI; it's a tool YOUR AI uses.
Typical classroom flow:
1) Import camera + external audio into WaveXML → Synchronize
2) Export XML/OTIO to the school NLE
3) Optional: local MCP for a rough cut
