Just to update, I ended up deploying the Community version of LimeSurvey. Apart from a few glitches with SMTP settings, it went pretty well and now over 2000 invitations have been sent out for the ballot. Thank you for the recommendations - it has been invaluable (and got me a system largely functional within 24 hours!)

I am going to give the self hosted version a go and see if I can get it working

Thanks. Presumably we would just need an export of all parent/guardian details to load into the survey database to send out the survey links?

With Limesurvey, is it possible to view which parents have voted (without the answer obviously) so it can be verified that the parent hasn't potentially voted by paper too?

I have had a project dropped on my desk with an urgent deadline (essentially today, although I can probably push it back a day or two) for enabling online voting, in this case for a parent governor election, to supplement the paper ballots In the letter that is going to parents, it is listed as a 2 part process, one to input details to verify the voter (the school have to verify the voter name matches the record we hold for a student/to ensure only one vote is received per person) and then one with the vote - the two cannot be linked. The latter part is all well and good on paper ballot (two envelopes) but is a more challenging issue with online My immediate go to would be a Google or Microsoft Form, but I am unsure if it will satisfy the anonymity aspect. I have also come across School Governor Online Elections – Choice Voting Online STV Voting Has anyone else had experience of doing this and got any recommendations please (particularly anything that could help me in justifying a spend for a "proper" platform for doing this Many Thanks

We have a number of iPad trolleys in school which are booked out by staff for classes. We have had a recent spate of incidents where malicious emails have been sent to staff and students from student email accounts which trace back to iOS devices behind our firewall. Having done some digging, it seems that a number of iPads have Office 365 account info saved in browsers and a simple click will sign in with that user. No iPads have PIN code locks and they are MDM managed by Jamf (which I don't currently know that much about, being relatively new to school) Is there any solutions for this? Windows devices our students obviously log into and have their own space so saved passwords are less of an issue, but iPads don't have the traceability (including the web browsing on Smoothwall, which I think will be anonymous (though I haven't actually checked in on this to be fair) Thanks

I am using 25H2 off the bat, with English International to deploy English UK (so many of our machines have been SCCM's with US locale, which is causing issues in of itself!) One question I have - it seems that despite injecting a whole heap of drivers into the build, it is going off to Microsoft to download at least some of them, which seems somewhat unecessary. Any way to stop that? Next thing I need to do is a Connected Cache server so less goes out to the internet generally

Just to respond, having initially being quite daunted by CloudOSD, I revisited it again just before the weekend with a clear head and managed to create a new workspace, adding drivers for our devices (Stone OEM, so nothing available automatically) and successfully built one laptop. I will look at the WDS option too for PXE booting. Hopefully I can look to them eradicate the tangled web of SCCM from the environment that looks to be doing very little now!

We are an Autopilot school, which was implemented by predecessors to me, with little info available and little thought into the overall process, particularly for rebuilds. It seems that in theory, a factory reset should be do-able to rebuild a device if it is bootable, however we have a handful of machines that are not bootable/recoverable. Our support partner helpfully(!) when I asked about this, told me we should have our own image to put on devices and in the past this is what we have provided. There is an SCCM deployment (again, I found it on a version from about 4 years ago as allegedly it isn't used, but has been used to build some of the desktops we have in school which they couldn't get working on Autopilot at the time, but hasn't actually been decommissioned) but for what we need, it feels like a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Ideally, I would like a simple solution that I can PXE boot, but could USB if needed, where I can install Windows 11, plus a driver pack and then let Autopilot take over from there. I believe MDT/WDS is deprecated, as I say SCCM (MECM) feels like overkill, and I would rather not need an image file as it will need updating for Windows versions/device types and would need Sysprep consideration. Any advice would be much appreciated

We have made the Intranet page the home page now (it was meant to be, but it wasn't set up right) and the announcements are on a different tab. Hopefully this is the right forum for this, but please could it be moved if not As with many others, no doubt, I am sick to the back teeth of having little way of differentiating devices that are built with HAADJ Autopilot - just a sea of random names! I have come across scripts for renaming (such as Naming Hybrid Azure AD Joined Autopilot Devices Automatically using a Custom prefix and Serial Number – SMBtotheCloud) and I have done one manually, but want to make sure what I am seeing on Entra is also OK. Prior to rename, the associated Intune and Entra devices matched, naturally. They now don't. But the Entra device doesn't seem to "work" anyway and if clicked and then selected to Manage, it comes back as device not found. This is the same for all our HAADJ devices Is this to be expected and, should we go full AADJ in the future, would it present an issue? Could there be anything omitted from the Entra Connect application that we run locally? I also did a test build which was AADJ joined only and renamed that PC (via Intune) and it changed both. In that case, the Entra device does exist, though Many Thanks

To cut down on all staff emails (it doesn't seem to, but that's a side issue!), a predecessor has set up a couple of SharePoint Announcements Lists on our Intranet and staff are instructed to set up a daily summary alert so they see them without venturing to the Intranet site Aside from being fraught with the problem of staff not receiving the alerts if they don't manually set it up (reliance of which is arguably a bad idea), Microsoft are retiring these alerts by the end of the academic year, with phase out starting now Other than suggesting just using all staff emails which is my current think, have any of you got other solutions that work well and ideally ones which don't require manual setup by staff? Thanks - I wasn't aware of TAP so that is useful Process wise, do you (or anyone else) know if there is any difference between running the technician build, followed by the user driven build as opposed to only running the user driven build? I am presuming that the technician build would install device wide apps etc to save a (proverbial in our case) end user having it all to install when they did their own first provision (say if it was sent to their home directly and IT were hands off for the initial setup)
