Hi Could anyone give some advice on the following please? I’m trying to unravel some historical licensing issues at a school I am currently supporting. Back in 2012 they bought some Office 2010 Standard volume licences under a ‘Select Plus’ agreement (possibly via a London Grid for Learning scheme). The teacher who set the thing up at the time, set up the Windows Live ID linked to the Volume Licensing Service Centre using his own personal Hotmail account. He is still at the school (but no longer has anything to do with ICT) and I can still get to see downloads, keys etc. but only by him granting me access and ‘peering over his shoulder’ once he has logged in with his Hotmail account info. I’d like to know if it is possible to change the Windows Live ID that is associated with a particular VLSC login and switch it to something that is owned by the school rather than a personal account for a member of staff. I'd also like to remove his personal Hotmail account from the arrangement too. I have no idea on how to go about doing this though. Has anyone had to do anything similar in the past? I can find little info on this and am not sure what would be the best route to get this changed (via MS, the reseller or a change of settings once logged into the VLSC). Any advice on how to go about this would be gratefully received. With thanks John

Bought a batch of 60 of RM NB14 (Clevo W540EU) notebooks back in April 2013 for use as pupil laptops on trolleys in the classrooms. Have recently been finding that they are increasingly beginning to develop a similar problem. The issue is that, even after a lengthy charge, they simply won't switch on at all. They are all under 3 year on-site warranty and several have been 'fixed' by replacing motherboard and/or power supplies etc. but now have another 5 or 6 with the same problem. Would be grateful for any feedback if anyone else has experienced any similar power on/charging issues for this particular make/model from that sort of purchase date. Many thanks for any info if anyone else has come across a similar issue for this device.

A network using only in-built Windows features where they have produced their own policies etc. to lock down the system for use in a primary school. Apologies if my use of vanilla was inaccurate.

Hi DaveP Thanks for your reply. I am sure SITSS will do a good job for you. I believe they have their own in-house vanilla Windows solution which I have seen in a couple of primaries. It works well and works reliably. I'm sure there must be some commerical providers who can cater to the primary school market, but as yet I haven't been able to find them! Any other suggestions welcome please!

I'm currently looking for recommendations for companies offering supply, installation and support for a full network refresh in a Hertfordshire primary school. Viglen and RM are dominant in Herts but the school would like to consider other vanilla options from other suppliers. Enquiries with various firms so far suggest most will do parts of a primary school network but none really offering a full package of installation and ongoing support for the school. Can anyone recommend any alternative suppliers in the Hertfordshire area who are able to offer a full supply/installation/support service to primary schools and who really understand how primary school ICT 'works' and needs to be installed and supported? Thanks in advance for any advice and suggestions.
