They are right for some people... not for others. When it comes to vivid colour with a quality 'feel' then they are about as good as it gets. The wax on the paper makes prints stand out even on cheap paper. However if you ever need to hot laminate your prints then they are not for you. It melts the wax. Running costs are better than most HP's using OEM consumables, but not as good as the Kyocera C5300 for example. Depending on what you print (coverage and quantity) it may also be worth looking at Xerox Pagepack contracts as they offer great value if you are printing high coverage colour. 'Green' credentials are good, since the consumables are just wax blocks with minimal packaging. One piece of advice... If you do get them, do your best to never, ever turn the printer off... It has a decent powersave mode, and switching on/off triggers a cleaning cycle which wastes a fair bit of wax.

If you shop around there are still a few HP CP3505s around. Specifically the CP3505X.

on a pay as you go basis it's hard to argue with their running costs... I have a lot of customers that swear by them.

These are certainly becoming more and more common now. Xerox, Oki, Ricoh all offer cost per page options (with the Ricoh it is nil commitment too). HP offer a few solutions along these lines, but since they are coverage dependant they are not true 'cost-per-page' contracts and need to be carefully quoted to make sure that the customer doesn't get any suprises when it comes to the end of the year.

Chief... We're not selling these, but there WERE a March promo line from HP and normal disti price was sub £160. It's only now disti stock is short/gone that prices are shooting up on stock. Supply and demand, I guess.

Techstore in stock Misco have stock too at the low price. And anyone who has stock now paid under £160.

Still a good deal for people that don't mind that it may have been used/returned though
