I think AI is being overused and my worry is that people are becoming reliant on it. This does nothing to promote independent thinking and also many people will take the output from AI as accurate and correct. This is often not the case. We have to remember that we are working with actual real young people here and not in a artificial setting. How does AI know that little Jonnys rabbit died so is displaying uncharacteristic behaviours or has lower test scores than his work would suggest because of this. AI does not understand emotions that we all know run wild in our young people, so we need to find the happy medium.
Using AI to speed up tasks that may require multiple pieces of information from different areas may be a way that we can do this. An example would be finding year 11 students who are just missing a level 4 in Maths and English, then looking where they all have lessons that could be replaced by additional E&M and which rooms and teachers are free to take them. This currently is a enormous task where you may have 30 timetables printed out in front of you trying to find the common link. This is something AI could do easily so this is where it should be promoted
