Saw one recently that has not been getting a lot of attention: 2012 That is the title "2012" Starts slow but once it picks up it is powerful action/drama. Watched it the other night with family, high definition home theatre. (When I burn a movie I usually boost the audio a bit, so when it plays on home theatre speakers the effects sounds are a dialed up slightly.) So I put this one in, and when the action really got going, everyone in my family was locked on, mesmerized. (Family includes my folks or inlaws - sometimes we invite them over for dinner or a weekend we might be busy, and in the evenings, we may all kick back for a film.) That is one of the best things for me, when I have seen a film and like it, then recommend it for my family and they all sit down for it, and become captivated. Can't explain it, but I love when that happens. .

Practically every day I wake up and ask what became of Mathilda. Jean Reno has good command of the English language. His pronunciation of the name Mathilda is perfect diction. This action flick takes time to learn the main characters. The pacing is superb. Natalie Portman makes a surprise appearance. One of her purest (and best directed) roles. Next on the list is Heat. Has one of the most stunning get away scenes (if not the most compelling) in film. It was a total shocker. Was not expecting it, the duration nor the intensity. About 10-15 minutes into the scene, I could not believe how well it drew me in. The rare type of scene that sneaks up on ya and when you are least expecting it, grabs your coat lapels, gets up in your face and demands attention. Totally blew me away. ...One of the best movies to feature De Niro and Pacino together in film. Top notch support from Val Kilmer and Tom Sizemore; also features Ashley Judd, lovely under pressure. All with good casting, directing and support roles by the best in the business. I especially liked Arnold Vosloo and Jennifer Connelly in Blood Diamond and Djimon Hounsou in Amistad.
