This is a Secondary school with 700 users, 250 pc's 60 laptops 20 interactive whiteboards and no full time technician? I was just rather suprised!?

Has anyone heard of a school without a full time technician?

That would be great! looking through a Becta paper on implementing FITS, they had 6 schools that had these ratios of PCs to ICT Technicians: 90-1 100-1 130-1 140-1 150-1 195-1

Hello, I have been asked to come and help sort out some ICT problems within a school in Norfolk. I was really surprised to find that there was not a stand alone ICT support department?! Instead the ICT system and network management and first, second and third line support is covered by 2 ICT teachers that teach for at least half of their week? Can you guys let me know what the ratio of ICT technicians to computers/users is at your school, schools you have worked in? Thanks in advance for any responses, Nick

Michael, Thank you for your post, I know who to go to now for the inside track at Serco support! I appreciate that every implementation is different, I think the biggest challenge will be managing the staff and their expectations!?!
