  1. Thank you @thimon this has been really helpful.
  2. Thank you for this @DalekSec we are not quite there yet with Intune deployment as this is the next project on the list to tackle but this will definitely come in handy.
  3. Hi, We have recently deployed and moved all of our data to SharePoint to help with the operations of the school and our commitment to moving infrastructure to the cloud. I was wondering if there is a possibility that I can deploy a favourites folder that can have all the links to websites that staff need so that they can easily navigate to websites when they open new tabs etc. When I worked for a Google school this was as simple of going into the Google admin centre and making the changes in there and it was as simple as that but I am unsure if this is easily done in a Microsoft environment. I have done some research and found out that this is done through GPO but after looking into it further it requires a lot more work than I thought which looks like a complete headache. Has anyone else been able to do this in their Microsoft environment?
  4. Thank you everyone with this. It is a really good confidence booster to read all of your support about this. I have also emailed the HR team to let them know about my dyslexia as well so that they can note this down and be a little understanding on how I process issues a little slower than the average technician that has had years of experience but I am more than capable of fixing the complex issues in IT.
  5. Hi, The school is a microsoft based school but there younger years use iPads and then transition to Microsoft computers when they get older so I believe this might be a technical support type of show me and tell me type questions with probably acting like a younger child asking for support. But again it could be anything to be honest. All I know is that I will be doing a practical with an iPad.
  6. Hi, I have recently applied and got to the next round of interviews for a school. This role is for a Senior Network Technician role and even though I have the experience of being a senior network tech I am still worried about what this assessment will throw at me. I am going to be provided an iPad and that is about it so I am not sure what I will be up against. Has anyone else been in my position before and know what this is about and how they tackled it? I really want this job and have shown a lot of eagerness to work with them but I fear that if I mess up the practical then all hope will be lost. and me sitting the interview would be hopeless. Any reassurance would be grateful!
  7. Thank you for this. I will test this out today and hopefully I have a good fix for the time being.
  8. Ok, I will most likely look into local profiles later on in the future. As for the GPO @simpsonj what would I need to look at in terms of disabling the animation? This is something I would like to look into to possibly doing first to try and tick this box first.
  9. Hi, I have had a quick deep div through the forums to see if anyone else is experiencing this issue but sadly I haven't. WE have roaming profiles at the school but every time a user logs into the computer they are greeted with the Windows sign in animation where it says it is setting everything up. Our biggest problem is that these accounts are taking far too long to login and this is causing some accounts to take 20 minutes during the lesson to sign in which is taking longer than it should. We have gone through deleting the profiles on the users part of the computer which helps out the login times but I wonder if there is anything else that could be causing the roaming profiles a long time to sign in? We have SSD's in our computer so they should be fine in terms of speed and reliability so I am guessing it could be a setting in GPO or something I can do.
  10. Ok sounds promising. Let me know how they get on and if this was an actual solution to the issue. I have high hopes for this considering there was an update for SIMS in the summer.
  11. Did this fix the problem for you though? I am starting to get quite desperate about getting the fix in place now because SLT are starting to chase me on this and Attendance is starting to stress.
  12. This is incredible. I have been back and forth with their second line technician for a week now and haven't really got anywhere of a resolution. Now I need to work on how to get the updater working because it is currently being blocked on the network which is highly annoying.
  13. Hi, We are currently dealing with an issue at our school where students are unable to access certain sounds on Cubase due to them being installed on the C: drive. The student accounts have no access to the C: drive so this is why they are unable to get the full library and even with using the library manager and pointing them to a different drive it still doesn't fully allow the students to access all the sounds. My question would be is that has anyone ran into this issue with students not being able to access certain sounds on cubase and how have they managed to do a work around for this issue? My suggestion would have been to give the students access to read only permissions for the drive to help fix the issue.
