Evening Ahh that makes sense, yes it would be a recovery pack, we normally offer these for systems with damaged windows installs, updates ect, but mention this may not resolve the entire issue in the event of hardware failures but is always a first option for OOW hardware. I've forwarded the ticket to the Support team, so they'll be in touch with further updates on this, as I mentioned providing you're able to get a USB sent over to the office as this would be the only real cost involved, we can build the pack and send it back out to you prepped, hopefully this helps. -InVentry Tech

Evening, Have you asked support regarding a recovery pack, as we do offer a Windows 10 LTSC build for our Generation 4 units ideally it would be better if you're able to send InVentry a USB (32GB) and we can simply build the recovery pack, and ship back out, then support simply remote onto the unit and restore the database backup, something to think about if you're looking to upgrade the unit from LTSB to LTSC. - InVentry Tech

I'm unsure on that as I'm not privy to future plans sorry. Regarding the DB, the on-premise the databases are encrypted behind AES 256 encryptions, the only way in would be either via a console account or getting partner API access or as you mentioned direct access to the system, but with direct system access you'd need a console password (IE a reception/Admin users password as these aren't the windows account passwords) to access data or the database encryption key to do this within the SQL DB. -Tech

Currently, the on-premise database will exist in the event the network connection to the system or your site goes down, as we all know the issues with online-only solutions currently, we have Visitors, Staff, Staff events, Pupils, Pupil events and MIS update functionality handled in the cloud currently, all the data hits our cloud server then gets pushed down into the on-premise database, and any changes on premise such as sign in events hit the on-premise database and then send up into the cloud DB. It may also help on of the questions that comes up often about needing an .exe to be run to access this, as all you'd need on this beta is to go to Inventry.world and login and you'd have access to most™ of the information that you can access in the console, completely bypassing a lot of the issues you may face with getting access to the InVentry console hopefully, that sheds some light on what it does. -Tech

You can do this, providing you periodically copy the console files from the InVentry touchscreen across to the location, an xcopy would be a good way of doing this, you'd want to do this as periodically, when we push an update to the console files, the touchscreen will be updated but the local ones you're running aren't, so some bits may not show as expected, we certainly have sites doing things such as this, a way to get around this could be simply adding a console onto a VM/File server all staff have access to and then copying then having a task set to copy the files across each night. -Xcopy info: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/xcopy -Tech

The registry keys are used in the event you want to be able to UNC path to the share location, ideally you'd map the drive with the admin credentials, or to completely work around the UNC pathing issue, domain join the system but, I would speak with support prior as ideally we'd want the system, put in an OU with no policy inheritance as you may strip local admin rights but doing so would completely bypass the need for the keys changing. -Tech

It'll be a CC600 then, yes the main system should have the firewall enabled with port rules already in place, so only thing you may need to change is all 4816 communication on your network, as this is used for most of the system (4816 being the InVentry API port) Can't say I've heard any issues with this so you should be good to go, on that front. The passwords out of the box are default ones, but these can be changed providing you let the install engineer know or the support team, as only a few things need amending to change this (Services and login details mostly) It can backup remotely as it's just a SQL backup so as long as it can reach the destination it'll backup to, I know some sites do this to a onedrive, or Google Drive location, as long as Veeam has a location it can backup to that should work, depending on your site you may also get "Cloud" which sends up information so in a catastrophic failure, it can re-parity this data back into your system, it's not everything at the moment but currently does Visitor/Staff/Pupil events and records, so if you have a major issue this can repopulate a lot of the system with this. Hey Depending on which version of lesson scan your site has, means the ports are different, if its the older lesson scan "Mk500" its ports 43001,43002,43010, if its the newer lesson scan "CC600" (Looks like a little android phone and runs on it too) then its port 4816, hope that helps somewhat. -Tech
