In my school every classroom is equipped with a HP G5 USB-C Dock connected to two monitors and a TV alongside HP Elite x360 830 G10 so teachers can easily move room to room with their laptops, plug it in and have a setup ready to go. We set up the display settings as best we can when new laptops roll out, individually for each room they use and firefight when they go to use a new room for the first time. We are however seeing consistent issues with the laptop's forgetting display settings in rooms where previously everything has been set up and configured. Its not that the screen aren't recognised, everything is still in display settings, but the screens which were duplicating switch to extend, the layout of the screens reset, or as we have been seeing more recently, some of the screens will be disabled entirely. All staff are given the same guidance on using the docks, though whether they all stick to this is hard to know.
We're unsure if its because of the docks, the laptops, or the fact that some staff use so many different rooms(The issue does appear more common with staff that change rooms frequently, however this is not always the case)
I know the screen config settings are saved in the registry and some devices have far more entries that I would expect to see. But the team is at a bit of a loss of what the actual cause of this could be.
Has anyone experienced this, or could throw in any ideas on what could be causing it?
