Hello all, this is my first post so apologies if it is not the right place.
I am a teacher who has NetSupport installed on school. We have one teacher's PC and ~25 student's PCs.
I did not own the software and the IT section of the school cannot help me.
Since years I am facing an issue related to Show Menu option.
When using Show Menu to screencast to all computers, some videos 1) lags the teacher's PC, and 2) the video (and this is the main issue) lags, pixelates and sometimes freezes.
This is happening to some videos. I use Camtasia 9 to render videos.
My attempt:
I know this can happen due the bitrate of the video. There is no issue when reproducing a video which does not have high quality images nor a lot of movement.
I tried to set the video to low resolution and replicating 480p main aspects with the following Camtasia configuration:
but most of the videos keep lagging.
Are these specs correct? Or am I doing something wrong?
Are there any NetSupport School settings I can look at?
General specs:
The lags starts when reproducing some videos, not when sharing a PPT nor Google Docs files etc.
Don't know the bandwith of the computer room network. I think it is < 25 MB for the totality of PC's.
All the PCs have Windows 7 almost 64bit, some student's PC have 32bit installed.
When a student PC have network issues at the same time I start using Show Menu, a notification pop-up appears and for a brief moment the computer freezes. After clicking OK it continues like normal.
Can't remember the software version, but I found this GIF which shows an exact view of the NetSupport School we have: https://kb.bcit.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/2407-02.gif
We have a TV connected to the teacher's PC via VGA and we use Show Menu with duplicate screen on teacher's PC when using Show Menu.
I use VLC to reproduce videos.
All PCs are freezed meaning when they get restarted, all the data get lost. I don't mind if you find a solution that requires changing any NetSupport related configuration, I will by happy to know.
If you have any doubts please let me know.
Thank you for your time!!
