Hi guys I've been setting the proxy on our network with the local computer policy set to per machine and not per user. Just got a load of new laptops in, gone to set the policy and they don't have one I'm looking for. It was - Local COmputer Policy\Computer Configuration\Adminstrative Temples\Windows Components\internet Explorer. Anyone got any ideas or alternative ways to set proxy so it doesn't change on an individual basis ? All help appriciated. CHeers

Can't be a power issue, installs fine on identical laptop, looks like i'm reinstalling windows. Oh well gives me something to do while I eat lunch.

Thanks for all the replies, I've already tried all except the fridge. I think it's some sort of USB relateed problem as when I plug my usb drive in it starts with the add new hardware wizard too and I have to restart machine before I can access the drive? Looks like I'll have to see how high this laptop will bounce.

Hi Guys Our HT has just purchased a HP 4280c All in one printer FOR HOME but can't get it to install. So he's brought it in to school for me to look at, as if I didn't have enough to do. I'm also stuck so rather tan waste a lot of time thought I would ask you lot. When I run the setup program it hangs when I'm told to connect the printer via USB. Add new hardware wizard runs and gives the message 'Cannot install specified port is unavaliable' Any ideas? PS XP Pro System Cheers in advance

Unfortunately I'm up in the North West so it's a bit far. I'll have a look at the catalouge though, cheers. Out HT is getting excited about voice control / speech recognition software although I struggle to see how that will work in a classroom environment. 15 kids all talking at once, even the best noise cancelling mics would struggle

Hi all New to the forum, first post and all that. Was wondering if anyone has had dealings with special needs software for things like visual and motor imparement. I've just taken over at a MLD school and been asked to review provision of existing software, there isn't any..... Cheers
