An interesting issue we started noticing recently. If you change an address for a student, all the students who live in that road or who have the same post code their addresses changes to the new address you have posted for that pupil. Can anyone shed some light to why this is happening and what we can do stop this? Our admin ladies have exhausted the blame game as only one person does all the changes on the system. I have ran a database diagnostics and no errors were picked up

What are your opinions about Admin Staff accessing SIMS from home using VPN, especially those members of staff who have administrator rights and can view personnel data? My opinion is that there a few legal issues to be addressed, i.e. Data Protection for example. Consent from other members of staff that their personal information can be accessed from home. I don't know I could be over reacting, how are other schools implementing this?

I have mapped a network drive from my second 2k3server and when the users logon its asking them for a password for them to access the drive. If they use their login names it does not allow them to access the drive, unless if I use an administrator Account. What have I forgotten to do, please help. Many thanks in advance.

The ICT manager has bought some Viglen cubes and we have a RM network. My problem is as follows: Teachers and systemadmin log on with no problems. When students log on the computer the desktop freezes when loading. I have changed the workstation security to none, I have deleted drivers, and changed the user type, I still get the same result they freeze. I have created a new user type based on the staff user type just to get the kids working.RM will not help because they are not RM machines and Viglen have no clue about RM Networks. I know it was a big mistake buying these cubes without testing them. Help||||||||| Please.
