  1. I never did get this working with Exa and gave up in the end. We've switched over the Wave 9 since then and although we've now got a faster connection, I left the Mac Mini in place and caching worked first time and we've never had an issues with it since.
  2. The PC is one of these, rebadged as Very PC Broadleaf mini https://www.jwipc.com/productinfo392.html#page1 PC / Motherboard is GCA01, BIOS version 5.26 dated 26/06/2024 with no updates on the JWI website. Not all of them are flaky, but it's not great when you need them to work first time everytime for lessons.
  3. Hi, We bought quite a few of the Very PC Broadleaf Minis over the summer break and so far I've had nothing by trouble with them. I have machines that lock up / freeze after a few minutes, I have machines that drop off the LAN for no reason. I've even got machines that will Wake on Lan, and then drop off the network while booting into Windows. I've updated drivers etc and am using the latest Realtek NIC drives from the Realtek website. I've tried a few things like changing settings in the BIOS and for some it's made a bit of difference and they seem to be more stable, but for maybe half a dozen of them, they are just unusable. Has anybody else bought from VeryPC and currently having any of these issues? Any workarounds that they would like to share? TIA
  4. Excellent advice Jaymate and that's what we're hoping to do. I've already been talking with one company and I'm waiting for Concero to get in touch.
  5. Hi, Thanks for the posts - I'll check out your recommendations. In reply to what are we migrating? - basically the Hyper-V server (Domain controller, File/print server and MIS Virtual machines) is old and needs repacing so it's either a new server, or look at going serverless. As the DfE is recommending that schools should be moving to cloud solutions, it seems like a good time to have a serious look at doing it.
  6. Hi, We are currently investigating moving to the cloud and would be looking to use a third-party partner to carry out the migration. Could anybody recommend a company they have used to migrate them to the cloud? Any companies we should avoid? I'm not keen on doing the migration myself as my time and experience are limited so I wouldn't have the spare time or expertise to sort out problems as we hit them and need things to go as smoothly as possible. Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi, Is anybody using the Exa Quantum+ filtering platform? A the moment we have Quantum standard but monitoring iPads isn't great as the device internal IP is not logged. Just wondering if anybody had any experience with Quantum+ that they might want to share? How well did the deployment go? Does it do everything you want it to? Are you able to efficiently trace filtering alerts down to a device / user? How do the children cope with signing on to the captive portal for iPads etc? Any thoughts / comments would be appreciated - good or bad! Thanks in advance.
  8. I tried your suggestion - thanks for that! - and I actually got it working outside of school so it looks like it was a filtering issue. The Senso eval period is now up and I've also since found out that even though Senso quote iOS 10 or newer, it's also model specific and a lot of our older iPads don't even support the app, so I don't think we'll be going with Senso.
  9. Thanks for the replies. I did have a look at Impero but it quite expensive compared to Senso. I know you get what you pay for, but if you don't have the budget in the first place... We are using Lightspeed MDM and I'm not sure if it can deploy payloads or not? For the eval I entered the creds manually on the few devices I have it installed on, but still no good. I sent a log file from one of the iPads to Senso support over a week ago again and I'm still waiting for their devs to get back to me. That's good to hear about the browser - just got to get the alerts / logging working properly and then I can start testing!
  10. Hey snagrat, I'm just half-way through a senso eval and getting nowhere fast with the iPads. Our newer iPads have the app but show nothing in the logging console. Our older iPads won't even take the app properly and just end up in a re-install loop. Also, I'm not liking that it's only the Senso app browser that can be monitored. So I would have to block Safari and Chrome and hope that all our websites work with the Senso browser? Did you complete your trial? Care to share your thoughts?
  11. This worked for us: Use the URL https://juniorclassic.microlibrarian.net/?theme=&customerid=Unnnnnn (where nnnnnn is your ID). The other two URLs mentioned above don't work for us but this one does!
