Hi everyone,
Been using Ranger XL (not to be confused with the newer / current Ranger XL Designer) since 2005 on an XP PC. My XP installation was recently sabotaged by Microsoft (I changed a setting in the bios which triggered the activation protocol). Thought I'd try running it on a PC with Win 7 Pro on it. Software installs fine and I can load and validate my license file, but i can't get the installed Ranger to see the Sentinel security key which is needed to edit artwork. The key installs fine provided I use Sentinel driver version 7.7.1. The Ranger software originally shipped with Sentinel driver V7.1.1 but it won't install on win 7, even if I run it in compatibility mode for XP SP2/3 and even Vista, which is interesting as the key (dongle) also installs and works fine on an old vista laptop I have. Also tried Sentinel driver v7.3.0.
So my question is - is what I want actually doable? Ranger seems to be one of the least known CAD programs out there...information is scarce. An earlier inquiry directed to Seetrax was met with the usual 'product no longer supported' response.
Any help / suggestions much appreciated.
