Framlingham College is a co-educational day and boarding school comprising of the Prep School in the beautiful surroundings of Brandeston Hall, and the Senior School which is set in the stunning surroundings in the market town of Framlingham. We require an effective IT Network & Systems Administrator to join our busy IT department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of our network and Windows Systems. This will involve managing various server technologies including Windows Server 2019/2022, SQL 2014/2022, Exchange 2019 and Office365. You will be a proactive individual with strong communication skills, and ideally MCSA/ MCSE qualified or with relevant proven technical experience. This is a year-round role working 37.5 hours per week, 8:30am-5:00pm Monday to Friday, plus up to ten Saturday mornings (8:30am to 12:00pm) each academic year as per the department rota. Framlingham College is constantly evolving as it modernises and improves its access to IT services, in part through better use of information and technology. The College is committed to delivering the best IT to help the teachers and pupils so they get the most out of the IT Systems that we provide. We are looking for a motivated IT Apprentice to join our busy IT Department. The successful candidate will be required to assist with a range of duties as allocated by the IT Manager. You will be expected to work under supervision and independently, preforming IT projects and carrying out tasks as they are assigned. The IT Apprentice will also be resolving routine IT issues and assisting the IT Team with day-to-day duties. You will be providing support to other department members across both school sites as well as studying towards the Level 3 IT qualification. The role will be working 37.5 hours per week, as well as any study dates the course dictates. Core working hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday. This will be a fixed term contract for the 18-month duration of the apprenticeship. Rate of pay will be at least £7.05 (or national minimum wage, dependent on age). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing IT support to all of our staff and pupils. This will involve responding to Helpdesk calls and installing and maintaining all IT hardware and software and associated equipment. Job Purpose: To support end users, diagnose and rectify technical IT issues, complete administrative functions and operate the help desk system. Contribute fully to the smooth operation of the IT department and other aspects of IT development, support and training as and when required. 2. Major Duties of Post Holder: As part of a team of skilled IT professionals, operate the help desk on a rota basis. Diagnose and rectify faults effectively and speedily paying special attention to the core business purpose of teaching and learning. Assist with regular routinely tasks within the department relating to hardware and software maintenance and projects where necessary. Contribute to reviews of software and hardware for compatibility with College systems by ensuring that all proposed equipment and software is compatible both with the current systems.
