Hi, May be able to help. I have the mdx-40 and could not update or connect same as you. turned out (after 2 days faffing and fixing old pc that could run xp) it could be one of two things so try easy first. while the view light is on machine data can not transfer, try pressing view button on machine so light goes out and see if that works
