King Edward’s School was founded in 1552 by Edward VI and since then it has played a key role in the history of the city. In the late 19th century, it created five grammar schools and King Edward VI High School for Girls. Now in the 21st century, The Foundation runs twelve schools – two independent fee-paying schools, six selective academies and four non-selective academies. The King Edward VI Academy Trust Birmingham (“the Academy Trust”) was established in 2017 and is made up of the ten academies outlined above. The ten academies receive back-office central support services, including finance, from the Foundation Office. The Foundation Office is the Foundation’s central support services function, with several staff being seconded from the Foundation to deliver support services to the Academy Trust and the academies themselves. A vacancy has arisen for an IT Manager to strengthen our central resource to ensure key projects are delivered. Driving everything forward from planning to implementation, their actions will directly influence the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the project.  The post holder will also oversee the day-to-day smooth running of the Foundation Office’s IT systems by working closely with our external third-party IT support provider and IT Desktop Support Technician.
