I dont think your wrong, most of the internal is the battery. Which I think is the same with each unit but to be honest, I wasnt paying attention to them while replacing the screens. The mainboard itself is tiny and is passively cooled by a sheet of copper.

Hi I just thought to post here, I am an external contractor who has been approached by a couple of local schools about screen replacements for these, I found BOE NT116WHM-N44 work fine, as long as you chop the top two mounts off. As long as its 11.6, 30 Pin (on the right hand side) any generic panel would fit these. Every single one of these I have pulled apart have had different panels installed.
