Hi, I would really appreciate anyone who could give me some advice here - as I'm very much a Nova novice!.
Our timetable is currently set up as 8 periods a day.
am - defined in the cycle as a non-teaching registration period (non-class codes are used to populate the teachers timetables this period).
Followed by 2 periods of 60 mins, a soft break of 20 mins,
Another further two periods of 60 mins,
A lunch (set as teaching period) of 50 mins and
Two final periods of 60 mins each (one of these is after school)
Since am is set up as a non-teaching lesson no lesson marks are generated - tutors simply edit the session attendance mark. We would like to set up the period am as a teaching period for tutors to enter a lesson mark (this mark would be used to record (internally) the number of students registering remotely online with their tutor each morning). Attendance officers would then enter the AM session marks (which would not linked to the am lesson mark) – this would be the official session mark as to whether or not students were present in school or remote learning at home – session attendance would be reported as per guidelines.
In NOVA, when I go into cycle - the first period (registration) has a red 'R' in each day. If I deselect 'period type -R' for every day of our two-week timetable then export the new cycle/timetable - will this work without creating any major issues? I'm assuming that I would then need to remove the non-class codes on teachers timetables and add gen 'registration' lessons to generate the lesson marks?
The only change I'm making is changing the 'am' period from a non-teaching period to a teaching period. I'm not changing any times of the day or the number/order of periods in the cycle. Could it all go horribly wrong?
Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you!
