Hi all,
I am hoping at least one of you out there has been in a similar situation to I currently am!
As the new NM and Google for Education Lead at my school, I have been tasked with the job of attempting to fix an issue the school has been having.
We are 1:1 with Chromebooks, and our current internet filtering is done through Smoothwall which we also use for our SSL Inspection.
Teachers are requesting, to have access to the Jamboard App. Not the online service, but the Android app.
I created a test OU, with a test user, and put my test Chromebook in the OU.
I have enabled Android and the install of apps through Google Play, and set the Jamboard app to forcibly install and pin.
After a restart of the CB things start breaking.
It looks like the android instance is loaded on boot of the CB, and tries to authenticate with the user that logged in last. This is causing the smoothwall to go crazy, and loads of errors come through from that user of a failed to authenticate.
When I actually managed to get on to the device, it installs the Google Play store app, and I can search the store, however no images are shown, and the Jamboard app doesn't get installed.
From some further digging, it is a clash between the SSL inspection as the certificates are mis-matched with the Android instance.
Does anyone have any ideas of any potential fixes?
Cheers,
Dan
