Question one from the final practical "Demonstrate you can do the horned fingers."

It didn't work in my Chrome, (or Firefox, or Opera or Konqueror), hence my question as to what it was supposed to do. I'm a Linux user. Perhaps it only works in Windows?

I see a list of videos, which is pretty much the same as when I search for any phrase. What's supposed to happen?

wincache_ucache_get is a php function which returns a variable stored in the user cache, so it is doubtful that you will find a file called that. You need to know what is it trying to get from cache to resolve the issue. Check the apache error log files.

Very nice picture from B&FC. As I see it, the problem with the online options, is they are very limited in the types of "paper" that you can stick on the board. You can change the colour but you are limited to rectangles. They look too much like Post-It notes. You could probably do something with Gimp's Script-Fu if you can put the time in to learn it.

The last time I looked at this, the general consensus was you can't. You have two choices. Choice one: ignore them - damn difficult if your doing screen captures which involve a lot of mouse movements. Choice two: change to an operating system where you can turn them off - Linux or XP. If I'm doing a screen capture, I use a second monitor and run the capture on that. M$ have yet to stretch the taskbar to the second monitor, but I suspect they might in a future release just to piss us all off.

Just like you, I've found that none of the free solutions work. We purchased a package that was "guaranteed to convert swf to avi" (I forget which one). Anyway, it was a waste of money - it didn't work and I chucked the CD in the shredded in disgust! The only way I was able to this under M$ was to play the swf file using my favourite web browser and capture the video and audio using Camstudio. Now if you try to record your speaker output in Camstudio, you'll see an error message, which says WaveoutGetSelectControl() not found or something. Most of the advice on the web about how to fix this, says you need to change your sound card to the Sound Wave XL 7000 GTi Turbo, or some other outrageously priced noise maker. Nup! If your PC can play sound, you can do it. If you hunt around on youtube, you'll find a 10 minute video with lots of annoying SlipKnot music, which will tell you how to fix the Camstudio error. Don't bother watching the video (which is why I haven't posted the link). He tells you only two useful things. Thing 1 - in control panel, set your default recording device to mixer. Thing 2 - in Camstudio use record from microphone (yes I know!). Voila! Fire off Camstudio, select record window, play the swf and save the avi file. If you then want to do another video, you'll probably have to reboot your PC. I do as it is so damn full of memory leaks.

I think we call this hexspeak. When I used to work with AIX, we would see 0xdeadbeef quite often if you were running the debugger. It was an uninitialized frame. I think 0xdeaddead was seen sometimes in the NT4 kernel.

I've always called it the quick launch navigation menu. It can be disabled by Site Actions > Site Settings > Tree View and uncheck "Enable Quick Launch". Having done this, both "View all site content" and "Recycle bin" links are still there so the screen space isn't re-claimed. This is just one of the very many annoyances of SP. AlexPilot's advice will make it go away and you can get it back by deleting the CEWP with the code in.

It wouldn't be too difficult to build a cupboard around this. Alternatively, try this vertical rack.
