glennda Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I have a load of machines i am testing with KMS. I have office installed on the clients and also installed the key management server on a 2008 R2 box. I am trying to activate office using it and although i have 5 test machines waiting to be activated it will not activate them. It says i need to do this manually - how does it mean manually but running the ospp.vbs /act on all 5? or installing them using a mak key? if its the first one i have tried this or do i need a 6th for it then to work? not sure if its just me being stupid or not! Toby
glennda Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 hows your dns? It can find the host ok as when you try the ospp.vbs /act it finds the host but can't activate.
glennda Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 Also I know have 6 client machines installed - running slmgr.vbs /dli shows that the machine has had no requests. but the machines have accepted a kms client key but just cannot kms activate.
glennda Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 I have found out the problem. There is a problem with the Sysprep and if you don't use the /generalize in the sysprep file. Also if you have opened office on the image before syspreping you need to run a office rearm as it keeps the same cmid and the server was seeing them all as a single client rather then as 5 seperate machines. hence why it was only seeing them as a single machine!
