Hello all,

How can I get rid of this Smart Notebook message that appears on Startup?

Message.jpg

I've already used a reg hack to stop the auto update from appearing in 2008 R2 Preferences:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\SMART Technologies\Product Update

CheckUpdates

REG-DWORD 0

I'd like to do the same with the attached message, but not sure where this setting is. Many thanks!

This setting is governed by the following value:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SMART Technologies Inc.\SMART Board Software\Board Tools]

"noboard"=dword:00000001

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. I'm using Smart Notebook 10.8, but the reg key you describe appears to be in a different location:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SMART Technologies\SMART Board Drivers\Board Tools]

"noboard"=dword:00000001

I presume this is still the right entry I am looking for?

Just to confirm the following entries work with Smart Notebook 10.8 and Windows 7 SP1 x86:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\SMART Technologies\Product Update

CheckUpdates

REG_DWORD 0

and

HKCU\SOFTWARE\SMART Technologies\SMART Board Drivers\Board Tools

noboard

REG_DWORD 1

These were deployed using 2008 R2's GPP :)

i know this is an old thread, but we have 10.8 installed - browsed to the reg

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SMART Technologies\SMART Board Drivers\Board Tools]

"noboard"=dword:00000001

But the 'Board Tools' Doesn't exist, do i just create it?
