Seems to be a new feature that allows a fast sign in to Shared PC

 

 

Faster sign-in to a Windows 10 shared PC

 

Do you have shared PCs deployed in your work place? Do you wish that signing in to a PC with your account was faster? Starting with this build, we are introducing “Fast Sign-in,” which enables users to sign in to a shared Windows 10 PC in a flash.

 

I do wonder what changed, disabled or delayed at login? Might have to give a VM a spin, see what’s different.

Knowing Microsoft there will be a snag at some point, only working with Azure springs to mind.

Shared PC Mode sets the GPOs listed in this article (almost all of which I have already configured without enabling Shared PC Mode) so it will be interesting to find out what 'EnableFastFirstSignIn' actually does.

To enable Fast Sign in,

 

1. Set up a shared or guest PC with Windows 10
   
2. Set the following policy to enable Fast Sign in (Policy CSP/Authentication/EnableFastFirstSignIn)
   
3. With the policy enabled, sign-in to a shared PC with your account and notice the difference!

I'd be happy with 10x slower than that gif!

 

Fingers crossed it helps us with slower non SSDs.
