We have a Server 2008 R2 Domain and a printserver with Server 2016 and Windows 7 and 10 clients.

We have group policies which for printer deployment using group policy preferences which always and still works on windows 7 clients.

Now on windows 10 1703 not always printers are deployed. Most of the time at first boot there are no printers, but when logoff and logon again printers are deployed.

Nothing in eventviewer, only when it fails in gpresult it gives error code 0x80070057

Also tried:

wait for link at startup" and "group policy wait time" GPOs do not have any affect.

Added HardenedPaths policy in Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates - Network - Network Provider - Hardened UNC Paths

Value Name: \\*\SYSVOL

Value: RequireMutualAuthentication=0,RequireIntegrity=0

Value Name: \\*\NETLOGON

Value: RequireMutualAuthentication=0,RequireIntegrity=0

Also tested via registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetworkProvider\HardenedPaths

Also tested

run in logged on users context

and

Point and Print Restrictions: Enabled.

Users can only point and print to these servers: Checked.

and Enter the fully qualified server names in the text box.

When installing drivers for a new connection: Do not show warning or elevation prompt.

When updating drivers for an existing connection: Do not show warning or elevation prompt.

still the same problems.

Any ideas?
