SamanthaJane Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 We have a selection of XP and Windows 7 machines. They all have Movie Maker 2.6 installed. Two students have made movies on the Windows 7 PCs. They are saved as MSWMM files. When trying to open on Windows 7 I get error from Windows Movie Maker 'Unspecified error' When trying to open on Windows XP I get error from Windows Movie Maker 'Windows Movie Maker cannot open this File' When I try to open on Windows 7 with the latest Movie Maker installed (I think 6?) - it tells me that it is incompatible - although I was lead to believe that movie maker was forwards compatible? Are they just corrupt files do you think? It just seems too much of a coincidence that the only 2 students to create the file on Windows 7 are the two who cannot open now.
