Anyone living near Macclesfield?

Mum's up on the top in Buxton and had 10 inches of snow on Sunday. The road to Macc was closed

I'm in Sheffield which isn't too far over and it's bloody freezing.

I'm about 5 miles from Macc (Poynton), it's bitterly cold at this point.....forecasting heavy snow for tonight (and it's had some light snow here already). Supposed to be slightly warmer tomorrow with a lot of rain.

 

Snow/Ice from earlier in the week hasn't thawed completely at the Wife's school which is in Macc.

Thanks @Iain.Faulkner. The event is at Macclesfield Leisure Centre and they sent a picture of the running track. Great for speed skating! A good soaking of rain might help but they have to make a decision by tomorrow lunchtime, so if you do get more snow I think it will be cancelled. Great shame after all of the effort we have put in.

 

Can you PM me an update if it does get worse?

They cancelled it. 3" of snow last night apparently. Shame, we have had a beautiful morning here.

 

Here's a pic of the running track taken this morning. I can't see the problem personally.

Sorry, only just picked up your reply :-(

 

The really daft thing is, after it threw snow down on Friday night it's rained ever since and you wouldn't think it had snowed at all.

I guessed that would be the case. Trouble is, they had to make a decision by Saturday lunchtime. Oh well, I missed the delight of the M5/M6 in the minibus.
