[sims] Updates Change Parent Addresses

Hi

 

We've had the issue over the last 12 months or so that sims updates seem to rearrange the addresses of some of our parents! i.e. Mr Jones's address gets switched with Mr Smith's. Only a handful, but this does lead to complaints when letters home are sent to the wrong people.

 

We don't use any external updating stuff so I'm at a loss to explain it- any ideas?

Have you reported this to Capita / local support?

They would want to recreate it and hopefully work out why.

The only thing i can think of and it's a stretch is that good practise is to run dbdiagnostics and validate memberships etc. at the time of updates. The diag routine has some built in fixes, but i doubt it will switch addresses.

There is also an address validator function, so perhaps there is something in their postcodes that causes it, perhaps a new unknown postcode in a new housing estate?
