Hi guys, happy new year to you all!

We have been experiencing all kinds of lockups and logon problems which i have narrowed down to the drive mappings group policy. We have 2 NAS boxes which we both mapped as drives through group policy but no longer require them.

I copied the credentials from the old policy for network drives we wanted to keep and did not add the two NAS drive mappings onto a new policy.

When a user logs on they are still on the mapped drive list therefore causing the original issue.

Any idea how to remove the old mappings? The user can right click and disconnect from them fine but we need this to happen automatically. It would seem the settings are staying on their roaming profile?

Many thanks

Right click a drive GPO and select 'Properties'. Then select 'Delete' from the Action drop menu.

Alternatively re-create the drive GPO, select 'Properties', specify the drive letter, then select 'Delete' from the Action drop menu.

Great thank-you very much! Didnt realise you needed to do this in a clean GPO, i thought it only applied when making changes to an existing one.

I have given you rep for your help on this matter :)

If you're mapping to a NAS then generally it doesn't have permissions. On a Windows system, you must have permissions. Check there are no deny entries.
