In one of our classrooms we have a projector that looks best at output 1024*768 and the new computer has an HD monitor that has a native resolution of 1920*1080.

I'm looking for recommendations on how to quickly switch resolutions back and forth.

I have tried QRes, and it switches one way, but then when I use the script to switch back to 1920*1080 qres reports an unsupported resolution.

Using a StarTech VGA splitter.

Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks and Happy New Year!

Add a usb gfx card and attach the projector to the onboard video and monitor to the usb card.

Ben

That is how I would do it if you wanted to continue using the startech usb vga adaptor, otherwise I would look at a graphics card that had 2 video ports on it that said pc would support ( depending on what graphics card slots said motherboard had )

You don't need anything expensive and am sure you could pickup an ATI or nvidia series graphics card that had 2 ports
