Hi there

I have had problems deploying a windows 7 image on the bootcamp partition of an imac, I eventually want to be able to deploy a single sysprep image of windows 7 which will come from a PC on to the imac partition before I begin to roll it out to other imac's on our network using deploystudio. I was able to do this before, but can't seem to make it happen again, any ideas please.

Just a thought

Do you use Microsoft MDT?

We put a win7 image onto all of our iMacs directly from Microsoft MDT. It means we can deploy all of our Win7 images from the same base image without having to have copies elsewhere.

I'm actually writing it up for another site.

Thanks jszkudlapski,

Finally found a stable way to do this, still in the testing process. You need a network share drive and a Windows PE Disk, problem solved, using imagex tool to capture and deploy the image with no errors at all, ;but you would need Windows AIK installed. For guide use the links below

Create a Bootable Windows PE Disk - Spiceworks (Create a Bootable Windows PE Disk)

(Use ImageX to capture a Windows 7 Image)

Hi

MDT does all of that :p) in a simpler process.

Basically we have a MDT serevr that has 4 windows images for our entire campus, one of them is dedicated to our Apple machines, we boot them up with a DVD/CD because the iMac's cant do a PXE boot it boots up into MDT, you select the image and it wipes the bootcamp partition and copies the image on (and then adds it to our active directory domain and installs our anti-virus softwre)

I think we re-imaged a full room of 20PC's in about an hour the other week.
