Check if user has read document

Hi,

 

Does anyone know if its possible to check whether a user has read a document or not ? Basically when we save a shared document on a shared drive EG risk assessments, it would be nice to see if staff have read them.

There might be a way to check if they have opened it - I believe we use our VLE, but it's not me who set it up, but, as I pointed out, that doesn't mean they've read it, just had it open on their screen!

You can audit file access if you really want to, doesn't mean someone's read it of course, just opened the file.

You need to turn this around. You are better off trying to combat this problem in your policies making it a requirement that people are aware of important documentation. At that point you can use auditing to find out who hasn't checked the documents you need to and take whatever action is appropriate.
