VMware View with vSphere Essentials

So, at the minute we have vSphere essentials which allows 3 hosts with 2 CPUs each. Works great.

 

We are looking to have a VDI solution so VMware made sense for us. I have been looking at all the packs, and the most suitable looks like Enterprise Starter kit with 10 VMs. This includes Desktop vCenter and Desktop vSphere for 1 host (I think)

 

My question is this, how do we add hosts to it after? What packs do we buy?

I can only find the support for the Ent Starter Kit, and only the Add on pack.

 

I have realised I will have to run the desktop vCenter on its own independently of the existing vSphere Essentials. Thats fine, I have enough capacity for this.

as long as you are happy with having two vcenters I tend to just run 2 x essential plus packages but all depends on how many desktops.

 

if you still have questions come monday I can ask one of my sales guys for the full licensing info. my VTSP doesn't cover a huge amount of license stuff but our VSP's will know.

So I could add another host to my existing vcenter setup and just tell VMware view manager to use that host for the desktops?

 

Can you buy view manager on its own and use my existing setup? Or do I have to have specific desktop vsphere? I don't need any more redundancy than I have with the current setup for servers.
