Sports Centre MIS System

Hi all,

 

Our School is currently in the development of updating our sports centre,

 

a colleague who works in the sports centre is looking for a MIS system for the swim school, has anyone had any previous experience with this and any systems,

 

we have SIMS on site for the school but what the sports centre to be completely separate.

 

Any one have any suggestions??

What do they want to put in their MIS should be the first question...

 

If its nice and simple you maybe able to use something like Visual Studio Lightswitch to mash together a web based database.

I think its just information for the swim school, but we ideally don't want to create it for them as things like payments may be implemented into it ect, so we want to get an external piece of software, either onsite or off

If there are going to be any links to the school system, it might be useful to use SIMS, just put another separate installation in. I'm not sure how that would work from a licensing perspective, but would certainly make date exchange easier.

In theory though data exchange between any MIS should be easy.

Take a look at ASPEN, it's very flexible and open ended.

Otherwise, there are plenty of web-based MISes that will do lots of the basics but will no doubt be difficult to integrate other features into later.

@bwestlake, what's wrong with Excel? Do they have a lot of business with a healthy profit margin? Just if they're only planning on making a few hundred pounds, I can't see a complex, but lovely, MIS system will be worthwhile. Just a thought anyway...

they currently use excel but its just got to large for them to find information
