Setting up a simple VLAN

We have 2 separate networks, an admin and a curriculum. I've recently set up a wireless network with the Netgear WC7520 kit on the curriculum network but would now like to have a separate wireless profile for the admin network.

 

Our setup is as follows;

 

Cisco Router (we can't make alterations to this, but certain ports are tagged for admin/curriculum) > Netgear GS724T > Netgear WC7520.

 

Could we in theory set a port on the GS724T with a new VLAN id (plug this into an admin port on the cisco) then create a new profile on the WC7520 with the same VLAN id?

Yes, configure an uplink from the switch to the router on the admin VLAN only, configure the port in the switch where the wireless access point is connect to be tagged for the admin vlan, and then configure a new profile to tag data for the admin vlan.

ah sorry i missed out a step from my original post.

 

Cisco Router > Netgear GS724T > FS750T2 > Netgear WC7520.

 

do i need to do anything to the FS750T2?

Yes every link in the chain needs to be configured to carry tagged traffic for the admin vlan.
