Hi

We have a calendar which is a resource mailbox which is accepting double bookings. I suspect i know what the issue is but not Why and how to stop it.

There is one lady who is a reviewing editor of the calendar, when she books an appointment she opens the calendar as a shared calendar and right clicks and selects new appointment, fills out the details then saves it.

Another person then creats a meeting in their calendar and adds the resource in the To box, they send the request and it accepts it even though the above appointment is there.

Then another person tries to submit an appointment in the same way as appointment 2 for the same time, this is then as i would expect declined.

The 1st step above means that the appointment has been created directly in the calendar and that the room is the owner of the appointment (identified by the black magnifying glass in scheduling assistant).

Why does this behaviour occur and how can i stop another booking after booking number 1 is made?

Why is the owner creating the appointment that way, why don't they follow the process as appointment 2. There shouldn't really be a need to go in directly to make an appointment, it should be sent there.

she is doing this as she is booking it for someone else and doesnt want it to appear in her calendar.

any ideas?

Why not give permission to do this on behalf on the user or setup as deleagte, the issue is the way it's working which to me seems to be by design. I can verify this for you tomorrow but you may need to change the way they work.
