Jambo_C Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Hi, All I'm wanting to do is to get the users to see only the redirected desktop. I can get the desktop to redirect but they can then still see all the icons on the local machine too. The "hide and disable all items" option does just that and hides the redirected desktop too. This is annoying me as I have it set up in one school but in another I can't seem to get it to work. It's been that long since I set it up though I may be missing or forgetting something. I haven't any scripts or anything in place it's all done via group policy. Could anyone help please?
bladedanny Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Under the desktop redirection options in GPO I think unticking the 'Move desktops contents to new location' box does this. Only going from memory though. Hope this helps.
arron Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 We just delete all the icons in the public desktop with a startup script.
Jambo_C Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 Nice one, I'm not at the other school until Tuesday now so I'll try it then.
Jambo_C Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 Hi, I tried both of the above and it didn't work. The problem with the script is that the user is a pupil so don't have the rights to delete the icons. It's definitely doable without a script though. I don't use a script at the school where it works and as far as I can tell I have everything in GP set up the same, it just doesn't work.
