ASUS Transformer or similar LapLet

Hi!

I currently use Smart-boards in my classrooms but to save time would like to keep everything on a Tablet. I almost bought the new Ipad but would prefer something with a(n occasional) keyboard. The ASUS Transformer caught my eye- any conflicts if running on Windows 8?

Don't think a transformer can actually run W8 unless they release an RT variant, still useless for smartboard. You want an x86 Windows 8 tablet like the Surface Pro or one of the many, much cheaper Windows 8 x86 tablets out at the moment with atom CPUs for decent battery life.

 

iPad = double useless with a Smartboard without a real computer handling the actual work and the iPad operating as a stupid remote.

Bit confused to as what you want

 

Smartboards are linked to computers, so don't see what you'd be "keeping on them".

 

As mentioned above, the Asus doesn't run Windows at all, so really both iPad and Asus are out if you're after Windows machines.

 

Do you want to use it as an android tablet on whiteboard, or Windows with smart?

ASUS are about to release a new Vivobook with an atom processor that will run windows8 x86. It looks near identical to the android based transformer aside from running MS's OS. Quite tempted by one when I need to replace my laptop actually.
