[wds] Screen goes black after OS installation

It gets to the point where im expecting it to log into Windows and do software installation etc but it doesnt get that far. The furthest i get is a black screen with a cursor. Can't CTRLALTDEL nothing.

 

Wondering if it was a hardware problem because this particular machine was being odd i swapped it for another but it seems to have happened there too.

 

Any ideas whats gone wrong with my image?

 

I'm currently installing it on a VM to see if it happens here too. Worked fine a few days ago when i redid a couple of netbooks.

 

Panicing slightly as i dont want to have to do it all again...

Just had this happening to me, turns out it was trying to boot from a USB stick plugged in, even though hard drive was first in boot order...

Hmm, my boot order is NIC, then HDD. I removed boot from USB as staff are forever forgetting to remove sticks. Only USB's plugged in are the Interactive Projector, keyboard and mouse. I've done it like this before.

 

My VM is currently at the "Completing installation...".

possbly not related but ive had a smartboard before where if it was plugged into usb at boot time caused the pc to take a very very long time to boot might be worth unplugging it just to elimate it. If you havnt already try booting in safe mode and maybe use gpedit to set verbose mode on as windows 7 by default tells you naff all about what its doing
