Troubleshooting Active Directory Integration Issues

Recommended Posts

So got everything working ok, except for AD integration, which is the final hurdle (before I give it up as a bad joke ;p)

getting a 5200 error.

dns checks out ok, I can ping the DC vice versa, but still get authentication server could not be contacted ,

Where do I look for fault finding?, being a complete noob to OSX.

AD server is 2008r2 if thats the issue?

I was trying to get ad integration working so I could automate some settings in profile manager (mail etc)

I've started doing it all manually now as i've got no more time to play about with it and tbh i'm not sure just how much time integrating with AD would've saved me!

anyway it was set up like this :-

wireless on vlan2 (guest wireless)

hardwire on vlan1 (which is AD directory)

I got ping working with hostname both ways - just kept getting a 5200 error

I know this an old thread, but if "Active Directory/All Domains" doesn't show up under search policy in the directory utility, it can be caused by an expired CA certificate on the Active Directory domain controller. Also run whatever health checks you can on the domain controller including DNS. Verity that SOA can be contacted.
