Hi All,

Having issues with profiles with Windows 7.

Current set-up is as follows:

Domain Controller = Server 2008 R2

Clients Windows 7 Pro

I have changed th epolicy setting to delete proifiles afrer x number of days, however this is not working and sometime resulting in users given a temp profile with not home drive etc....

Is there something that I am missing?

Causing huge problems for student logging on

That policy only applies on computer startup and only to profiles that have not been used for the length of time you specify. If they are used periodically they will not be deleted. Equally, if the devices are not rebooted they will not be deleted.

Instead I recommend the group policy to prevent student computers from retaining local profile copies at all.

Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > System > User Profiles > Delete cached copies of roaming profiles

If your profiles are not roaming this will not work though, obviously.
