squeeky Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 This is a quick one. We are using windows 2008 with vista and 7 clients. Im re-configuring the offsite backup and Im just wondering if I should include peoples profiles or not. They are pretty large and mostly rubbish except people might want their favs and things that people put on their desktop. However I wouldnt call them Essential and im quite short on space on the backup device. What would everyone else recommend ? just dump profiles ? Thanks Squeeky
tmcd35 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I suppose it depends on how much backup space you have and how much freedom you give users in their profiles (documents on desktops, etc). We don't back up profiles and make sure staff know that anything on their desktops is not backed up.
squeeky Posted October 12, 2012 Author Posted October 12, 2012 Yeh thats exactly what we do and I always tell people things on the desktop are not backed up. I think ill just exclude them
plexer Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Redirect their desktop and favourites problem solved. Ben
