But UAC is not turned off?

Windows 8 Enteprise that only started experiencing this issue once it was joined to the domain. Ive read that the apps are designed not to run as an administrator, but this error occurs even when I log on as a student..

has anyone experienced this or knows of a solution?

Cheers!

UAC has to be on. The new metro interface runs apps in there own little sandboxes to prevent malicious apps from doing much harm, to accomplish this UAC needs to be enabled. There is no reason to have UAC disabled.

I am sorry but I have to ask the obvious questions as I am not at the machine. What setting is it set to on the slider and have you tried changing the setting? Technically in W8 UAC is never off. Also is this just 1 machine or multiple machines, have you verified that all the proper services are running?

First, have you disabled any services? If so, try enabling them again. Generally default installed services should work.

Next have tried another position for the slider? The image is from my machine. I am logged in with Admin rights and I can run apps no problem, I also had no issues with a non-admin account.

Also how will you be capturing the image, if you are using a Microsoft solution the image will probably get sysprepped which will reset all of these setting. Are you creating the image with the machine on a domain or as a stand alone? Sorry for the questions but there are all things that can have a bearing on the problem and your deployment to 60 machines.

We have about 6k PCs so I can feel your pain. Which version of 8 are you using, I assume Enterprise that you got from your software assurance agreement. I am running Pro. I may have to do a VM Enterprise and test this to see if I can reproduce this. However it will have to wait until tomorrow. I am out for the day but will check back tomorrow.

Cheers!
