Andrew_C Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Has anyone got a working 512Mb SD card they don't need? Sat at the back of a drawer gathering dust? I'd be happy to swap for a 2Gb card... Just bought a new car radio with SD slot, and it is limited in what it will read!
AMLinington Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Does it refuse to read anything larger than 512 of just won't address it?
Arthur Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Just bought a new car radio with SD slot, and it is limited in what it will read! Have you tried reformatting the 2GB SD card? You may need to use Panasonic's SD Formatter program instead of doing it in Windows.
chazzy2501 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 have you formatted the SD card as FAT not FAT32 (I'd be suprised that FAT32 didn't work though) either way NTFS or exFAT probably won't work. I also notice that they don't like to have a file system in place. Format the card make sure it is read and write put it in then remove it a little later and you may find that it has added a file stucture for you to follow.
Andrew_C Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 When I say a "New" car radio, I ought to have said a "second hand" radio. The book specifies <512Mb <20 folders <200 songs, and don't put anything else on the card or it gets confused. I have formatted as FAT. I could try formatting in the radio, but don't recall seeing this as an option. I can check the book this evening.
