bandgeekmafia78 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Hi. I'm just having a play around with Windows 8 and actually quite like the idea of using the Metro UI rather than the classic start menu approach. One idea I've had is to create 3 separate Metro Tile interfaces - 1 for students, 1 for teachers and 1 for administrators. I was just wondering whether anyone else has managed to do this, or whether its even possible? Cheers. Alan.
gshaw Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Knowing MS there'll be no GPO control and we'll have a wait on someone from TechNet forums kludging up a script to fix it (ref: pinning programs in Windows 7)
sted Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Locally the metro tiles are just the same as start menu just shortcuts in the user profile so in theory redirected start menu policy may work

The only way (so far) that I've read how to do it is via default profile. Which is pathetic considering you can't really change it once someone has got a profile created on X machine, unless you erase them after logoff. The last time MS half arsed this bad, the OS was called Vista. 1
