mattianuk Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Hi all I set up my user shares through AD - and they are all working great... however... ICT teachers now want read access to some folders. Not a problem I thought, Ill give them read access to the parent folders and that will travel down, I then set up a mapped drive for them to the overall share. Apart from on further investigation, whilst they can get down to each users folder - on 3 out of the 4 intake groups, they cannot access the user files. I have this set up as follows: Student folder on a drive has 4 sub folders for each intake group (intake xx) each user has a folder called their username Permissions are shown in the screenshots below. Can anyone help me set the permissions so the security group ICT Teachers has read access to all the users folders in each intake group please? Many thanks in advance
mattianuk Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 Really struggling with this - anyone who can offer some help?
bladedanny Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 (edited) What are the share permissions? under sharing then permissions? Edited October 1, 2012 by bladedanny 1
mattianuk Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 Everyone has full control on the intakeXX folder - That figures though, as they can see the root of the intake xx folder - its the permissions on the indervidual users folders they dont have (which is just listing the student and administrator and not inheriting any permissions) Im not sure I want to inherit the permissions on userdrives do I?
