darbyshire Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) starting experiencing this issue with windows 7 and server 2008 r2. followed various articles with no success. Microsoft recommendation didn't help as we dont use CNAME for mapping printers. We use group policy preferences. 95% of the time the printer will add perfectly fine the other 5% the printer adds but you can't select it as the default printer unless you delete and add it manually or log off and back on. Anyone experience this issue? Thanks Edited September 27, 2012 by darbyshire
Birchy Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 We are experiencing the exact same issue. Have you found a solution to it or is anyone else out there able to help with this problem?
AngryTechnician Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I've been working on a few similar GPP printing issues for a while now, this one included. The following has helped a bit: Group policy printers dissapearing from client machines intermittently Please try adding a registry key DWord to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Provider\ and add the DWord RemovePrintersAtLogoff and set the value to 1. That seems to have gotten rid of the 0x0000709 error, but I'm still seeing similarly intermittent problems with printers not working correctly, corresponding to entries in the Application event log for Group Policy Printers at logon with error 0x8007000a The environment is incorrect.. There are other suggestions in threads linked from the above, but I'm still working my way through them myself so it's too early to say if any of them work 100%.
